How to play WhatSong

WhatSong is a daily music guessing game: every day at midnight, three new clips hand-picked by a DJ go live. Your job is to name the song and the artist behind each one.

The idea in a few lines

  • Three tracks to guess every day, unlocked one at a time.
  • 5 guesses per track — you need both the song and the artist.
  • A new challenge every day at midnight, Paris time.
  • Clips are chosen by hand — it is not always the intro of the track.

How a round plays out

  1. 1. Play the clip

    A short audio clip plays. Replay it as many times as you like before answering.

  2. 2. Type your guess

    Start typing and the list of possible answers appears. You have to pick one from the list to lock in a guess.

  3. 3. Move through the levels

    Once a track is done — solved or not — the next one unlocks. You can skip a track, but its answer gets revealed.

  4. 4. Compare and share

    At the end you get your results grid and your place on the day's leaderboard.

How guesses are scored

  • 🟩Exact match — correct song and artist
  • 🟨Partial match — right artist, wrong song
  • 🟥Wrong — incorrect guess or gave up

Every consecutive day you play builds your streak. A free account keeps your progress and history, and puts you on the daily leaderboard.
